Claude Carbon

Claude Carbon makes the environmental cost of AI visible. It’s a macOS menu bar app that reads actual token usage from Claude Code’s session logs and translates it into energy and carbon estimates, expressed as relatable equivalents like “laptop running for 6 hours” or “phone charges.”

The goal isn’t to shame anyone into using AI less, but to enable informed choices, like using a smaller model for simple tasks. All calculations are open and documented in the repo’s methodology.
